Sloppy Fidels (Paleo Cuban-ish Sloppy Joes)

Sometimes eating paleo can be difficult if your family and/or friends aren’t on board.  My wife  and I typically eat well and paleo-ish.  I seem to eat more paleo than she does, even though she is on board with the diet and its principals.  Her main nemesis right now is ice cream, but that’s OK because she is 8 months and 3 weeks pregnant.  Continue reading

Paleo To Go

I’m a big fan of not cooking every night, going out to dinner, and getting food to go.  The trick is to find food that is as paleo friendly as possible.  Take last night for example, my wife and I were going to catch a concert in the park type of thing at a local park/garden.  Since we both work and this thing started at 6:00, our options were limited for dinner.  Continue reading

The 20%

Leftovers tonight for dinner, so no new recipe with pictures to post now. I will share one of my favorite/go-to lunch recipes a little later on. For now I guess I should spend some time on the 20%. I spend the majority of my eating life shoving quality paleo food into my face, but I do stray. Typically on a daily basis. Carolina BBQ

Well, the 100 burpees for this afternoon’s WOD didn’t exactly pan out.  Stupid weather and stupid work had other plans for me.  I’ll more than make up for it tomorrow with a 3 miler in the am followed by a WOD in the pm.  All will be well.

The good news is the crock pot Carolina BBQ came out as deliciously as planned.  And as I promised earlier here is the recipe and a photo. Continue reading

Here we go…

Well here it is.  I’ve wanted to start a blog on paleo and crossfit for sometime.  Not sure what the tipping point was here, probably that I have had a few extra minutes on my hands because of this stupid tropical storm.  Anyhow, this isn’t going to be your typical paleo blog.  This is more or less going to be my journey through crossfit and living what I call an 80/20 paleo lifestyle.  100% strict paleo is good and good for you, but if that is what you are looking for, you would be better off looking here at the Whole 9/Whole 30 Program. If you have no idea what paleo is and are here wondering what is going on, you should check out Robb Wolf and company for the basics and all the scientific stuff. Continue reading
